1. ABOUT THIS PRIVACY POLICY
This Privacy Policy describes how we at Project Aging collect, use, process, and protect your personal information through our platform Arlow and is designed to help you understand how we handle this personal information.
We explain the categories of information we collect and the sources of that information in
Section 2 (What Personal Information is Collected);
We explain how we use your personal information in Section 5 (How We Use Your Personal Information);
We explain that we do not sell your personal information. We also do not “share” your personal information as that term is defined in the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA); and
We explain how we retain your personal information in Section 11 (How Long Do We Retain Your Personal Information).
2. WHAT PERSONAL INFORMATION IS COLLECTED.
When you create an account on Arlow, we may collect a variety of information:
Your email address
Your device information
Usage data
Location information
3. HOW WE COLLECT PERSONAL INFORMATION.
We collect information from you when you provide your email address at the time you register your account with Arlow and we may also collect information (such as device information, usage date, and location information) passively (i.e., in the background without your express action) as described in the Section 13 (How Do We Use Cookies and Other Trackers).
4. WHY WE COLLECT PERSONAL INFORMATION (I.E., THE LEGAL BASIS).
Regulations like the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) require that we have a “legal basis” for collecting your personal information. We collect your personal information for the “performance of a contract” (to use GDPR-compliant language). This means we use your personal information to provide Arlow and its services to you.
5. HOW WE USE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION.
We use your email address to set up your user account and for authentication. We may also use your personal information to comply with applicable law.
6. SHARING OR SELLING OF PERSONAL INFORMATION.
We do not share or sell your personal information with anyone (including other users of Arlow). The only exception to this rule is that we may have to provide your personal information to law enforcement.
7. PRIVACY ISSUES FOR CHILDREN OR MINORS.
We recognize the need to provide further privacy protections with respect to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
You must be at least 18 years old to use the App.
8. U.S. STATE LAW REQUIREMENTS.
Some states have laws that require specific disclosures for their residents (e.g., the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act (VCDPA)).
9. HOW CAN YOU ACCESS AND CONTROL YOUR DATA.
The only personal information that we actively collect is your email address. It is your account username so it cannot be modified by you or anyone else.
10. OUR SAFETY AND SECURITY PRACTICES.
The only personally identifiable information Arlow captures is your e-mail address that it uses for authentication purposes.
11. HOW LONG DO WE RETAIN YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION.
We only retain your personal information so long as it serves the purposes listed in this Privacy Policy, including to manage your access to the App, to collect and monitor traffic and other usage statistics about our App, and to comply with our accounting and legal obligations.
12. HOW DO WE PROTECT YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION.
We encrypt your email address at the database level. No one can access your unencrypted email address except law enforcement officers.
13. HOW DO WE USE COOKIES AND OTHER TRACKERS.
We may use cookies and other identification technologies in Arlow for authentication purposes and to analyze the trends of all our users collectively.
14. CAN WE CHANGE THIS PRIVACY POLICY?
We may amend this Privacy Policy from time to time by posting an amended version at our website and updating the “Revised/Updated” date at the top of the Privacy Policy. If such amendment materially reduces your rights or protections, We shall send you written notice. If you continue use of the Arlow following the effective date of the current Privacy Policy, that means you are consenting to its terms.
